Apple will accelerate the download of content to user devices

Streaming services like Netflix or Google Stadia are gaining in popularity. However, to consume high-quality content, you need fast Internet with minimal delay. Apple’s new initiative addresses this issue.
In order to reduce the delay in delivering content to end users, Apple announced the introduction of Edge Cache technology.
Traditionally, a movie from the Apple TV + service is hosted on Apple servers and delivered to the user, going a long way. Edge caching technology provides data storage on the servers of Internet providers. As a result, the content is actually closer to the final device and less time is spent on its delivery, and at the same time, the likelihood of any failures is reduced. In addition, this reduces the number of requests to the servers of Apple itself, as a result of which resources are released for other tasks. Similar technology is already used by Netflix and Amazon.
So far, Apple Edge Cache is under testing. It is not clear in which regions this service operates and which services apply. Now Internet providers themselves must submit applications on the Apple website in order to use the new option.
